The general position
Shararat sells access to a digital service that is delivered immediately. Once a period has started and the service has been available to you, that period is generally not refundable.
We do not treat that as a rule to hide behind. The cases below are ones we refund, and if your situation is not listed and you think it is unfair, write to us and say so.
Where you paid matters
Through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and the refund. We cannot issue one on Apple's behalf. Request it at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Through Google Play. Google handles the payment and the refund. Ask through Play, under your order history. Google's own policy allows a refund within 48 hours of purchase for most items.
Directly in the app, by UPI or card. We handle it. Write to us at the address below.
What we refund
- A charge you did not authorise. Tell us and we refund it in full, and cancel the mandate behind it.
- A duplicate charge. Refunded in full.
- A renewal you had already cancelled. If you cancelled and were charged anyway, that is our fault. Refunded in full.
- A charge after an account was deleted. Refunded in full.
- A period you could not use because the service was not working. If a fault on our side made the service unusable for a meaningful part of a paid period, we refund that part.
- A recurring charge taken without the notice we owe you. Where a UPI Autopay debit was taken without the advance notice the rules require, refunded in full.
What we generally do not refund
- A period you have used, because you changed your mind.
- A period you paid for and did not open the app during. Access was available; use is up to you.
- The remaining part of a period after you cancel. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep what you paid for until it runs out.
- Content you did not enjoy, or a character behaving in a way you did not expect. Generated content varies by nature.
- An account closed by us for breaching the Terms.
The ₹1 trial
The ₹1 is an authorisation charge. It registers the mandate for the monthly plan; it does not buy a month.
If you cancel during the trial window, the monthly amount is never charged and there is nothing to refund. The ₹1 itself is not refunded, because the authorisation it paid for was performed.
If the monthly amount is charged after you cancelled, that is a charge you had already stopped — tell us and we refund it in full.
How to ask
Write to us with the phone number on the account, the date and amount of the charge, and what happened. You do not need a form or a reference number.

How long it takes
- We acknowledge within 2 working days.
- We decide within 7 working days of having what we need from you.
- Approved refunds are sent back to the original payment method within 5 to 7 working days of approval. How long it then takes to appear is your bank's to decide, and is usually a few days more.
We refund to the method you paid with. We cannot send a refund to a different account.
Cancelling instead
You do not need a refund to stop paying. Cancel in the app under Subscription, or in your UPI app for a mandate, or in the App Store or Google Play if you subscribed there. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves the period you have paid for intact.
If you disagree with us
Write to us again and say why — a decision made quickly is not a decision we are attached to. If we still cannot agree, you keep every right you have under Indian consumer law, and nothing in this policy limits them.
Chargebacks
Please talk to us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback usually freezes the account while the bank investigates, which takes longer than asking us and helps nobody.
